Welcome!

We’re excited to explore how creativity can help break free from the cycle of overthinking in our upcoming art therapy workshop. Before we begin, here’s a little insight into what art therapy is and how it can benefit you.
What is Art Therapy?
Art therapy is a form of expressive therapy that uses the creative process of making art to improve mental, emotional, and even physical well-being. It’s not about being a skilled artist—it’s about using art as a tool to express yourself, explore your thoughts, and process emotions in a non-verbal way. As Pablo Picasso beautifully said,
"Art washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life."
How Does Art Therapy Help with Overthinking?
Overthinking often traps us in a loop of repetitive, unproductive thoughts. Art therapy offers a way to step out of that cycle by:
✅ Engaging the Present Moment: Creating art requires focus, shifting attention away from racing thoughts and into the here and now.
✅ Expressing the Inexpressible: Sometimes, words can’t fully capture emotions. Art allows complex feelings to take shape visually, making them easier to understand.
✅ Reducing Stress: A study published in the Art Therapy: Journal of the American Art Therapy Association found that just 45 minutes of art-making significantly reduced cortisol levels (the stress hormone), promoting relaxation and emotional balance.
✅ Rewiring the Brain: Engaging in creative activities lowers activity in the amygdala, the brain’s fear center, helping to calm anxiety and overthinking while activating areas responsible for problem-solving and emotional regulation.
Final Thoughts
Overthinking can cloud the mind, making it difficult to find clarity. Art therapy offers a unique and gentle way to quiet mental noise, process emotions, and develop a more mindful approach to challenges.
Looking forward to creating and growing together!
Warmly,
